MI is very proud to be helping the Des Moines Derby Dames continue to blow up Des Moines.

Founded by Malay Bouaphakeo (Show Stopper) in 2009. Her mission is to bring roller derby to Des Moines and its surrounding communities. She wanted to create a group of women who, with hard work, dedication, passion, and a desire to give back to its community, will make Des Moines Derby Dames a household name.

Congratulations to Kathleen Riessen

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) has presented Measured Intentions Client Services Director and Co-Founder Kathleen Riessen with the title of President of the Year for Division III.

Only two people in the history of AAF Des Moines have received this honor, Jennifer Simpson in 2008 and now Kathleen in 2010. We are really proud of Kathleen for all the hard work she put into her run on the AAF board and happy that she could be recognized for it with this award.

Kathleen's quest for wold domination continues when she accepted a position at the AAF District Board level, representing District Nine. Only five people in the 100 year history of Des Moines AAF chapter has ever served at this level. We wish Kathleen the best as she moves on to this role.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) club achievement awards are presented annually to AAF member clubs who display exceptional accomplishments in club operations.

Each year, the AAF honors top ad clubs in eight categories: advertising education, communications, diversity and multicultural initiatives, government relations, club operations, membership development, programs and public service. In addition, a “club and president of the year” is selected in each membership division based on the cumulative scores of their entries.

What are this Creative Director's thoughts on an effort to sell some feminine products? THUMBS UP. With no major media buys and relying strictly on peoples attraction to strange ideas via the interwebs Zack gains sympathy from all of us.

The goal of the campaign was to lesson the taboo of menstruation(never thought I would be typing that sentence by the way). Why the hell not admire the concept? For Tampax to allow a campaign where a boy develops a vagina and gets a period, takes...well....big balls.

From the initial concept to the the various executions, we are provided mutated hilarity.

Being the typical male I don't really give any thoughts to tampons or other such products. That is forever changed. Whenever a box of maxi-pads comes into my field of vision, I will think of Zack and his bleeding vagina.

Is Toyota's newest mini van campaign making fun of suburban family life or glorifying it? I'm going with glorifying it. I'm not Jigga but I'm for damn sure Dadda.

Toyota's latest attempts to get me to become a mini van driver still does not push this daddy over the edge of throwing all pride to the wind, however it makes me laugh my ass off. Below is just one of my favorite in the line of spots. The little nuances of the production (see the baby monitor at the beginning, keeping with the beat and daddy's dirt off your shoulder hand motions) make it more than worthy of multiple viewings.

Bring back tha beat!

It is related to a more general concept called mediated reality in which a view of reality is modified (possibly even diminished rather than augmented) by a computer.

While we drool over DROIDS and iPhones the future of humans integrating with data is here and ready to be dropped square on our noggins. We thought people who text at the dinner table are rude? Skip forward in the video to about 6:24 and see how easy it is going to be to ignore each other.

There is an amazing event coming to Des Moines. On May 5th, The Heartland GreenUp will take place at Prairie Meadows. Nationally known thought leaders from HP, Gartner Research, Google, and the EPA will headline the conference on Sustainable IT, Datacenter Re-Engineering and Green Energy.
